Background:

The Academy at Peckham is a City Academy at the heart of the community in Peckham in South London. Between September 2003 and September 2005 the site of the Academy is undergoing a phased development and construction programme. This involves the creation of exciting new purpose built teaching accomodation and the refurbishment of other buildings already on site. High quality new and refurbished buildings will improve motivation, raise student and staff morale and boost confidence. The school aim is that, with new curriculum and the modern approaches to learning which will charactirise the Academy, now and in the future, students will achieve their potential and academic reults will improve. Two specialisms are offered: Business and Enterprise, and Performing Arts, where learning will be clearly relevant to wide-ranging employment opportunities for those who have such interests. The Academy at Peckham is an ordered, encouraging environment where young people can develop physically, spiritually and emotionally.
