Background:
Every class has two hours per week set aside for sports, physical education and games. Every class teacher is qualified to teach these subjects and many of them hold additional qualifications in new image, football and netball. The school has a large playground and field, which are marked out for team games and, in the summer, athletics. Sports skills are also taught and practised in its purpose-built gymnasium, and the two halls. The aim of Hounsfield Primary School is to provide a happy and secure environment in which everyone has a shared sense of direction and purpose.
