Background:
Oaklands is a small, friendly school of 600 pupils, both boys and girls. As a new school, its buildings were specifically designed to meet the needs of the National Curriculum. It has some outstanding facilities with specialist area for art, drams, information and communication technology, music, science and technology. It is fortunate in having excellent facilities, many of which are purpose-built to meet the needs of the National curriculum and help prepare pupils for the modern technological world.Oaklands is very much at the heart of the community. Most of its pupils live in the immediate neighbourhood, and it is proud that its school truly reflects the different communities to Tower Hamlets working together in a harmonious environment. At Oaklands its aim is to create an environment where everyone can learn and achieve. It is a learning community committed to promoting achievement, dignity and self-esteem for all.
