Peter Hills is a voluntary aided Church of England school, which provides for children from the age of three to 11. It is named after Peter Hills a sailor who become Master of Trinity house during the time of Elizabeth I and James I. He was responsible for founding the first school in the Parish of St Mary, Rotherhithe in 1614. Delivering the national curriculum, the school provides extra-curricular activities. These include: football, netball, cricket, cross-country running, choir, recorders and guitar lessons. Peter Hills School aims to deliver a sound education which results in each child being literate and numerate, having a high level of self esteem, being self-confident, self-reliant and having a good moral sense.
