Background:
Plashet is a girls' secondary school which draws students from across the London Borough of Newham and from neighbouring boroughs. The school is housed in two buildings on opposite sides of Plashet Grove, linked by the Plashet Unity Bridge. East Ham Tube Station and High Street North are near to the school. The school caters for students from Year seven through to Year 11. There are 1350 students on roll, with nine forms in each year-group. Students use a variety of leisure facilities within Newham, including leisure centres and swimming pools. A range of extra-curricular activities is offered to encourage students to improve their skills and take part in their chosen activity either at school or at inter-school level according to their ability. The school aims to ensure that all students have equal opportunity to achieve their full potential in all aspects of their development; to prepare its students for the challenge of life in a complex and changing society.
