Background:

Roman Catholic voluntary aided primary school under the trusteeship of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The school has an ICT suite with enough computers for a whole class. Throughout the year there are promotions in support of various charities. It gives annual support to the Catholic Children's Society and The Cardinal Hume Centre for young people at risk. Local, national and international charities are also supported on a rolling programme. The school also provides a number of extra-curricular activities. A gymnastics club is held before-school and there is after-school football, ball skills, Irish dancing, netball, French and Italian classes. Over-subscribed, with 1.8 applications per place. Breakfast Club from 8am; after-school care, until 6pm, through link with local primary school. Investor in People status (2005). Ethos: 'A caring school.
