Background:
Founded in 1934, St James' Catholic High School is a six-form entry co-educational high school meeting the needs of Catholic young people aged 11 to 18. Having relocated to single site after extensive building and refurbishment in 1996, the school now has 10 new science laboratories, computer systems, two learning resource centres, a specialist music centre, a technology suite housing design and technology, and an art suite including a ceramics room. It has a wide variety of sporting facilities including a new sportshall, a multi-gym, tennis courts and football pitches. The school curriculum covers the following subjects: English, mathematics, science, design technology, information and communication technology, business studies, history, geography, art, music, drama and physical education. The school aims to provide a secure and stimulating environment.
