Background:
A 'smallish' inner-city school situated near Queen's park tube station, which serves the immediate community and some children from further afield. Housed in a three-storey building, the school has no playing field but does offer a playground. A range of sporting associations works with the school, supporting class lessons and running after school clubs. These include the London Warriors for basketball, Queens Park Rangers for football coaching, and Capital Kids Cricket. A full-time special educational needs (SEN) techer also acts as SEN co-ordinator. The over-subscribed school receives approximately 1.5 applications for each year place. The school is increasing its fundraising activities and maintains good links with the church. It recently received an Excellence Award.
