Background:
St Michael Primary School was the first day school opened in the Wood Green area. It is closely connected with St Michael's Church and since 1859 has catered for children of the neighbourhood. As a voluntary aided school, it is controlled by a Board of Governors who works closely with the Haringey Education Committee and the London Diocesan Board for schools. The governors are also responsible for the selection of the pupils, the appointing of staff and the maintenance of the building. The school is a caring, Christian school, striving to fulfil each child's potential.
