Background:
Stanford is a co-educational community school. It was founded in 1973 and situated in a residential area in Norbury not far from Mitcham Common. Buildings equipped with well-resourced primary classrooms, refurbished library, music/drama room, gymnasium, a dedicated computer suite and spacious reception and nursery classrooms with their own designated play area. It is a compact, one-storey design with all classrooms attached to the large school hall. It provides breakfast, after-school clubs like football, drama, basketball, computers, dance, success maker and table tennis for children and wrap around care for nursery. The school aims to create and maintain a caring and supportive environment in which all children will flourish, both academically and socially, and in which they will develop into happy, independent and self-motivated people.
