Background:
Stewart Fleming Primary School was opened on 1st of September 1939, but due to the outbreak of the Second World War, it was not officially recognised until second April 1940. It is a County Primary School in the London Borough of Bromley, located in Withnam Road, close to Birkbeck Rail station. The school is a non-selective and non-denominational. Facilities within the school include an assembly hall used for indoor Physical Education, lunches and drama work, including school productions, and for functions organised by the Friends of Stewart Fleming; a school library; a modern computer suite comprising 16 computers and an interactive white board; a large playground with a sunken patio and pond outside the main teaching block; a separate foundation stage (reception) play area; a music and drama room; an interactive whiteboard in each classroom, which has internet access via the LEA Intranet service; extra-curricular clubs and activities for the children; and Jumoke Breakfast Club and After School Club, running each night from 3.30 until 6.00pm.
