Background:
The Priory Church of England Primary is a voluntary aided school which is owned by the Richard Thornton Trust. The school has undergone extensive refurbishment and offers excellent facilities for all curriculum subjects. It has a large playground, garden, and field for children to play in, and well resourced library. The nursery and reception classes have their playing areas directly outside their classrooms. It welcomes children from all nationalities and faiths. It is a two-form entry school with two nursery classes in the morning and two in the afternoon. The school has Friends of the Priory School Association (FOPSA) who engages in activities that support and advance the education of pupils and assists in raising funds for the benefit of the school. It provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities. It stages a musical or dramatic production each term and actively seeks out opportunities for pupils to work alongside professional musicians, both within school and outside. Children also have the opportunity to study a musical instrument with excellent team of peripatetic teachers, organised through Merton music Foundation. The school aims to provide for the spiritual development of all pupils, not least through its daily acts of Christian worship.
