Background:
Ursuline High School Wimbledon founded in 1892 as a private convent boarding school. The school became a grammar school in 1944 and a comprehensive in 1968. The most recent additions to the school have been a new sports centre consisting of a dance studio, physiology laboratory and sports hall. Apart from the national curriculum, different subjects are taught such as German, Spanish, further mathematics at A level with more than 25 A5/A level and vocational subjects. Community links indicate extensive links with Ursuline schools across England. The school has been serving the local community by providing education for Catholic girls for over 100 Years. The standards achieved in academic work and all aspects of the life of young people have been outstanding. The school is fully comprehensive academically and socially, enjoys a strong and supportive community life. The school aims to set standards of excellence in teaching and learning and to provide a broad balanced and relevant curriculum.
