Background:

Coombe Girls' School was established in the north of Kingston upon Thames in 1955. In 1999 a 2.1 million pound building project to provide new facilities for technology, art, English and media studies was completed. A range of extra-curricular activities is offered at lunchtime and after-school. The school is involved in a video conferencing project with San Francisco and Morocco, while regular trips abroad have included trips to New York, Washington and Barcelona. The school aims to ensure academic success, its responsibility is to help its girls become fully rounded, positive and creative members of society.
