Background:

Hollydale School is a county primary school in the London Borough of Southwark. Situated close to Nunhead railway station, the two-storey building was built in the 1930s. The properties are a mixture of residential houses, some owned by the council, and some small council blocks. A wide variety of cultural backgrounds and different languages are represented. The school has a network system with access to the internet. In addition to the classroom computers, it has a suite of computers and a number of laptops in the library. The school offers a variety of extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs, which include music club, percussion band, guitar club, library club and drama club. Trips are organised to art galleries and the children study the different styles and techniques. The school has always been able to devote resources to the development of music within the school.
