Background:

Opened in January 1971, the school is set in its own grounds which include two playgrounds, a playing field and conservation area with a pond. The building is a 'modern' single-storey building with two halls for gymnastics and creative arts such as dance, music and drama. Pupils follow a 'strong tradition of high academic achievement' and music is given a 'high priority' with a specialist teacher using the Kodaly method. Music includes the orchestra, recorder groups, and a 'very good' choir. Other extra-curricular activities include football, netball, rugby, cricket, skiing, hockey and lacrosse. The school enjoys 'notable successes' in cricket and chess. Scotts Park has 'close links' with the local community and raises money for charities, notably The Cheshire Homes. The school is currently over-subscribed, with 110 applications for 60 places.
