Background:
Stepney Green is an 11 to 16 boys comprehensive school of 900 students. It is situated in the heart of the historic east end of London and adjacent to the exciting developments in Docklands, it serves the local community, which is mainly Bangladeshi in origin. It has a spacious and well-equipped library, including 30 computers and a good range of fiction and reference books/material. The curriculum is broad and balanced, and there are a wealth of opportunities provided, both in school and outside, to broaden students' horizons and enrich their experiences. There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities offered before, during and after school as it recognises that such activities broaden and expand students' talents and interests. The PE department organise football and table tennis at lunchtime, and after school and on Saturdays. At Stepney Green it is determined that its students should aim high, be proud of their achievements, and leave school believing in themselves, their abilities, and their capacity to change and grow.
