Background:

Located in north London, this is a mixed school with young people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Facilities include an Astroturf pitch and unusually a set of five courts where its excellent rugby five players compete at national level. The school has achieved Media Arts college status. The school has invested heavily in new technology to support this and offers four computer network rooms, a video editing suite and a suite of G4 Apple computers. All classrooms have computers with internet connections. Other facilities include a media resource centre, well-equipped recording studio, recently refurbished school theatre and extensive sports grounds. It is in the top five per cent of state schools nationally in terms of students improvement and was singled out for praise by OFSTED in 2000 as one of the most improved schools in the country. The school aims to inspire students through the development of new and creative approaches to learning and encourages their aspirations by working with them in an atmosphere of trust and respect.
