Background:
Addey and Stanhope School was founded in 1894 and was one of the first British co-educational secondary schools. Over the past 10 years the school has been the total refurbishment of four science labs, a new DFT block, refitted English block, refurbished library and a three storey extension comprising a gym, three language classrooms and two IT suites. The school has just put in a bid to become a specialist technology college reflect the school's strengths in technology, IT and science. The school is part of a federation with four local schools including 16-19 provisions, and is working closely to expand the curriculum offer with these schools and the local FE College. Addey and Stanhope School aims to develop the skills and talents of all students through a challenging, stimulating and appropriate curriculum so all can achieve their best.
