Background:
Set in landscaped gardens, Brentfield Primary school was built in the 1960s and had a further wing added in 1980. Facilities include large playgrounds, a wildlife area for science work, and additional teaching rooms for music, dance and drama. The school provides varied extra-curricular sports and pupils have achieved good results in local competitions. Children may opt into extra-curricular activities or attend them regularly as part of the daily breakfast and after school clubs. Pupils fundraising efforts extend from Marie Curie Cancer Research to a local Church of England organisation for helping the homeless. Inviting the local community to join in with the celebration of various religious festivals is designed to strengthen links outside the school whilst broadening the pupils' cultural education.
