Background:
Claremont High School is a secondary school and sixth form for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 11 to 18. Most of Claremont High School's buildings dates from the 1930s, with later additions including a music block, separate science building and a new purpose-built technology centre. There are two playing fields on site along with cricket nets and tennis facilities. Music is also among the school's strengths, with public performances and instrumental tuition. It has links with schools on the continent and staff and student exchanges with schools in France, Germany and the Russian arctic region. The school aims to provide a secure and stimulating environment.
