Background:
Cobourg is a community primary school with a nursery class attached. Religious Education in the school follows an agreed syllabus published by the local education authority. Because Cobourg is a community school it does not promote any particular religious viewpoint but aim to teach children about the six major religions of the world: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism. Religious education is a very important aspect of education in the school. The children are all time-tabled to use the ICT suite and develop their skills in this area. They are also expected to use computers in their classroom. Where possible the children are encouraged to use IT to support their learning and understanding about other curriculum areas. The school aims to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment. The school aims to promote a positive and productive learning environment.
