Background:

Edgeware Junior School is a local authority primary school which caters for children from aged seven to 11 years. The school is situated in a central position in Edgeware and is easily accessible by car or public transport. The school consists of two buildings and a separate dining hall on a large site which also includes a field, extensive playground areas and a school garden. The school has very close links with the infant school, and the children transfer from the infants to the juniors at the end of key Stage 1. The school is having to prepare its pupils to live in a world of rapid technological change. It is fortunate in having a fully equipped computer suite comprising of 16 multi-media systems which includes safeguarded internet access. In addition to the ICT suite, every classroom has computer systems which can be used during lessons. A variety of extra-curricular activities are offered to the children. These have included chess, guitar, dance, volleyball, rugby and gymnastics. Edgeware Junior School, in partnership with parents and governors, has high expectations of each child and is committed to providing a caring environment in which all children are valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
