Background:

Southwark Park School opened in 1872 and is on two sites. The juniors are in the main building. Classes are organised according to ages, and allow for a fair mix of boys and girls. Its aim to provide learning experiences which will enable each child to achieve his or her highest attainment. At Southwark Park School, its focus is on praising and rewarding children's own achievements and efforts, reinforcing a positive ethos. The school gives the children the opportunity of listening and responding to music from many different cultures. This music is recorded and, where possible, live. Children respond to music in a variety of ways including discussions, poetry, art, drama and dance. At Southwark Park School it believes that physical well being is essential to good learning. A full varied P.E games and movement curriculum is therefore important. Children participate in both indoor and outdoor physical activities. At Southwark Park School its aim is to create a happy and caring atmosphere in which children can learn and develop.
