Background:
Greenvale Primary School is a one-form entry mixed primary school and admits children between the ages of four and 11. A range of extra-curricular activities are available. It is able to offer clubs for football, netball, hockey, tennis, art, textile, gardening, computer, chess, French, recorder and choir. Children from Years 3-6 may receive lessons in instruments such as violin, flute and clarinet. The school has a small animal enclosure and an orchard. The school takes every opportunity to offer sporting activities sponsored by the Croydon sports partnership and those on offer by other organisations, both as part of curriculum time and after-school clubs. These have included short tennis, basketball and cricket.Throughout the year the school supports a number of charities. Charities that have benefited recently include the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, the British Legion Poppy Appeal, the British Heart Foundation, the Salvation Army and the Lepra Charity.
