Background:
Harefield Junior School's present building was opened in 1990 and is built on the site of the old school, which was built in 1908. The original bell tower still remains. The school offers sporting activities including football, netball, gymnastics, athletics, running club, orchestra, gifted and talented club, singing, recorders, drama, chess, craft, and information technology. There is a school council that meets regularly with one of the teachers to look at life in school. The school follows the religious education (R.E) syllabus as agreed by the local education authority and the Standing Advisory Council onReligious Education. The school aims to enable its pupils to achieve their very highest educational and personal potential, to encourage them to be independent learners and to prepare them to contribute as members of a diverse, multicultural community.
