Background:

Hillcross is a two-form-entry primary school. The school is set in extensive grounds, which encompass a playing field as well as a conservation area. Nursery and reception work closely together in foundation unit. Children in all year-groups are welcomed at Hillcross. It has a fully-equipped laboratory with resources, which can be moved to support classroom based activities as appropriate. A well-equipped computer suite and network, extending to every classroom, allows Hillcross pupils to take advantage of the ever increasing educational opportunities, which ICT offers. The internet can be accessed on all computers and has an extensive range of software to support children's learning in all subject areas. It provides Hillcross All Read Together (HART)to children to enjoy fiction and non-fiction in their reading. It offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities include gymnastics, dance, ball games, football, choir, drama, computers and choi kwang do. The parent-teacher association organises an annual programme of social and fundraising events, as well as helping at educational evenings. The school arranges visits and residential trips regularly to support the children's learning in different areas of the curriculum. The school aims:1.
