Background:
Parklands School opened in 1931. The school grounds have a garden and nature reserve. Extra-curricular activities include two choirs, an orchestra, various sports, computers and drama. There is a pets area, and children are encouraged to care for the goats, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs. The school has links with the community and welcomes visitors, theatre groups and roadshows. A number of charitable fundraising events are are held each year.
