Background:
Perry Hall was founded in 1982 after the amalgamation of a junior and infant school. It is in a residential area close to Orpington town centre, but is on a grassy site. The school buildings contain 14 classrooms, an ICT suite, library, food technology, design technology, special educational needs (SEN), music and craft facilities. Pupils have the opportunity to take part in football, cricket, athletics, lacrosse, netball, cross country, hockey and basketball. In 1999, the children became junior lacrosse champions for the South east of England. The school prides itself of the selection of extra-curricular clubs that it offers, including French, music, drama, internet and maths clubs. There are community links with local churches, nurseries, playschools, secondary schools and senior citizens' homes and a local estate agent sponsors a writing project annually. Pupils nominate a charity to support each year. A number of local childcare organisations provide after school care.
