Background:

Sacred Heart School is a Catholic comprehensive school for boys and girls aged 11 to 16. It is a school which has a high reputation in the Catholic and wider community. Most of its pupils go on to Catholic sixth form colleges - either St Francis Xavier or Christ The King whilst many pupils go on to university - two third's of all girls recently went to Cambridge University. There are voluntary Saturday morning classes and extra homework classes after-school.as well as many educational visits to museums, art galleries, theatres and operas. School trips include: Ski-ing in Andora, Outward Bound, France and the Isle of Wight. The school has had success in the boys' football, netball and athletics. The school runs competitive teams in soccer, basketball, tramplining, athletics, cross-country and netball. The school'strives to be a Catholic community in which Christian principles of care and respect are valued, with emphasis on the development of the individual through academic achievement and personal development.
