Background:
Has its origin in the House of the Sisters of the Poor Servants of the Mother of God in Stag Lane, Buckhurst Hill. Henrietta, the Dowager Duchess of Newcastle, foundress and benefactress of St Antony's, started a small school for five children there in 1894. It has undergone further development to cater for the growing Catholic populations in the area. The school curriculum has core subjects including English, mathematics, science and foundation subjects including technology, geography, history, art, music and physical education. Ethos: 'The school aims to enable every child to fulfil their learning potential, with education that meets the needs of each child'.
