Background:
This school was founded in 1860 to St John The Evangelist Church. The school is currently undergoing major remodelling to be complete by June 2004 in what is a grade two listed building. It is situated off Nalworth Road, three minutes from Elephant and Castle in southeast London. The school has a particular strength in ICT across the curriculum and is very well equipped, offering six computers per class, an LCD projector per class and an interactive white board per class. There are strong links with the church, with local schools and local business. The school is also considered by many as a centre of excellence for teacher training, in partnership with London South Bank University. The school aims to promote Christian values, creating a desire in pupils and adults to learn and achieve.
