Background:

Opened in 1886; intake is predominantly Roman Catholic and drawn from many cultural and ethnic backgrounds; one the largest primary schools in the borough; diversity of languages and socio-economic backgrounds. The school ethos is based on 'learning our faith, living our faith and loving our faith'. Pupils support Catholic missions throughout the world. The local priests play an active role in the life of the school, and there is also an active after-school association. The school puts on carol singing for charity and Christmas nativities in old people's homes. Clubs include chess, art, basketball, hockey, Scrabble, rugby, football gaelic football.
