Background:
The school was founded in 1865 to cater for the 'poor of Poplar'. It now occupies modern, single-storey premises. However the grounds and playground have scope for improvement. The school is situated in the middle of a housing estate in the north of Poplar. Most of the children live very close to the school and value their place there highly. Parents are very supportive and there is an active parents association. The school is closely linked to All Saints Church and the local clergy take an active role in the life of the school. The school enters all the local sporting competitions and has a reputation for fair play and sportsmanship.
