Background:
Thomas Tallis School was founded in 1971 and moved to its present site in 1973. The school has spacious grounds and its own playing fields. All pupils are encouraged to take part in the wide ranging programme of enrichment and extension activities that is offered beyond the normal school day. These include visits to museums, galleries and other local resources; trips to conferences and performances. Pupils are also encouraged to enter a range of competitions including engineering and construction challenges and design projects. The school has also developed links with a wide range of local organisations and businesses, which support its work in a variety of ways. This school has also achieved the following awards: Investor in People, Beacon status, Basic Skills Quality Mark, Sportsmark award and Specialists Arts College. The school aims to create an ethos in which everyone is equally valued and fully aware of the equality of opportunity all have the right to enjoy.
