Background:
Virginia Primary School aim is to providing a stimulating work environment, with a balance of challenge and support. The national curriculum consists of mathematics, science, English and ICT. These are called core subjects. It also consists of geography, history, design and technology, art, music, PE and religious education. These are called the foundation subjects. Religious education is compulsory for all children. There is also a daily assembly, which by law has to be mainly Christian in character. The school runs a number of after school clubs for pupils. The activities change regularly and may include cricket, football, art, chess, computers etc. Teaching staff and other experts bought in by the school runs clubs for the children. Virginia Primary School purpose is to guarantee physical, intellectual, spiritual and social provision of high quality to all learners in order to enable them to achieve their potential.
