Background:
Whybridge Junior was built in 1899 and has just celebrated its hundredth anniversary. The school is divided into four house groups, Ash, Chestnut, Elm and Oak and children are put into one of them when they first enter and remain in it until they leave the school. Pupils visit local sites of interest and go on residential trips. The school is very proud of its football team which has, in the past, won the Essex cup. In 1999 the team was joint winner of the All London Black Cup, won the Havering Cup and in five of the last six years has won the Havering South League.
