The school building was constructed in 1928 in a bungalow style, surrounded by play areas and adjacent to a local authority sports field that it use for games and athletics. School has a well-resourced with networked computer suite connected to the internet, educational trips and visits including a week at any activity centre Year 6, a high profile for music throughout the school, weekly swimming lessons at a local pool for Year 3 children, sports teams which play other local schools, a range of after-school clubs, positive links with the local community and a school council where children's views and ideas can be considered. The school has a range of information and communication technology including video and audio equipment, a fully equipped computer suite with 15 computers, and computers in each classroom which are networked and connected to internet. Music is a real feature of school life at Woodmansterne. The school employs a specialist music teacher who works with every class, teaching the children a range of songs, how to compose, perform and appreciate.
