Background:
Woolwich Polytechnic School was designated as a Specialist Technology College. Major investments supported by national and international companies have enabled the school to design, build and equip the school with new resources. Its information learning resource centre, and all teaching rooms, are networked to a vast range of CD ROMS, internet, video conferencing facilities and individual learning programmes in national curriculum subjects. Its new building complex has 10 classrooms, each with its own specialist ICT facilities. There is also an all-weather sporting surface. The school's links with business, industry and the community help to provide pupils with work placements. All pupils following GNVQ and A-level courses benefit by a period of work experience to enhance their studies. This school has also achieved the following awards: Sportsmark, Investor in People and Specialist Schools Trust. The school aims to create the right atmosphere for learning.
