Background:

Located in Belsize Park, the present main building of the Rosary Primary School was added in 1882 to an boarding school, founded by the Sisters of Providence four years earlier. The school was re-opened after World War II as a day school under its current name. Despite a wide range of abilities among the pupils, the school is 'high achieving', striving to develop every child's full potential. Children with special needs are aided with an Individual Education Plan. Religious and moral learning is 'of the utmost importance' and the school aims to 'deepen the Catholic faith of our children, to foster their spiritual and moral development through the teachings of Jesus Christ, while respecting the beliefs of others'. The school's many extra-curricular activities include participation in inter-school sporting competitions and an appearance by the choir in the Camden Music Festival at the Royal Albert Hall. They are also keen to raise money for a wide range of charities. The school is over-subscribed, with around 2.7 applications for every available place.
