Background:
Rosh Pinah Jewish Primary School was founded by Rev Saul Amias MBE in 1956 when it was realised that there was a need for a local Jewish school. The Zionist Federation Educational Trust gave enthusiastic financial support to the school, which was established in a small building in Mowbray Road, Edgware. The school promotes and provides a strong and effective environment where a high standard of education combined with warm, traditional Jewish values create an encouraging atmosphere in which its children can develop. The ICT suite is in use all day every day with timetabled sessions for each class. In addition the children can continue in the resource areas as all the computers are networked. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include football, netball, cricket, hockey and rugby. In September 2005, the school opened an early year unit on its original site in Mowbray Road, Edgware. There are 140 children in this dedicated foundation stage building and 360 children over KS 1 ' KS 2 at the main school. 2006 marks golden jubilee year and has just opened a new centralised state-of-the-art library. The school is an Orthodox and Zionist school. The school has a strong Jewish ethos.
