Background:
St Augustine's School opened in September 1964 as a one-form entry primary school for infant and junior children. St Augustine's has enjoyed a thriving school population since the opening and continues to provide a high quality catholic education for all its pupils. The aim of the school is that the children's education should take place in a caring and worshipping Christian community. The Christian ethos permeates all aspects of the school life and is not limited to specific religious lessons. Extra-curricular activities that take place after school and during lunch hour include drama, French, football, tennis, dance and Spanish. Recorder, choir, orchestra and individual music instruction take place during the school day. This school provides an excellent education that enables children to grow in their Catholic faith.
