Background:
Built in 1958, the modern single-storey construction stands in the same grounds as La Retraite RC Girls' School and has access to their playing fields and other facilities. Admission is usually restricted to baptised Catholics, with children expected to attend prayer and worship. Special emphasis is placed on religious and moral education throughout the curriculum. SAT results have always been well above the local and national average. In 1998 the school won the indoor and outdoor Wandsworth Primary School athletics championships. The football team also won the local Catholic Primary School Cup and pupils are often picked to represent the borough. Various charities, both at home and abroad, are supported by regular fund-raising. The school has two main aims: 'to help the formation of our children in the Catholic way of life, based on the attitudes and values of Jesus Christ' and 'to develop harmoniously the physical, spiritual, moral, social, emotional and intellectual potential of each child'.
