St Francis Roman Catholic Primary School came into being on April 1st 1993 when the junior school was amalgamated with the infant school on the same site. The school'services the Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows, Peckham, and the surrounding area. The school recognises every child's right to grow as an individual and has high expectations of children's academic achievement and ability to work and play together. The school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum. Music is taught through listening, composing and performing. Singing is central to all the class teaching. The composition of music is developed through percussion instruments. The school provides violin lessons to a few children. Guitar is taught at a lunchtime club. The school aims to provide a secure environment in which children can develop socially, academically and spiritually.
