Background:
St Joan of Arc RC Primary's school building was built in 1963 and will soon be extended, due to 'immense' local fundraising efforts, to include a computing suite and a developed playground area. The school is over-subscribed by a large margin. The school is attached to the St Joan of Arc church, in the Diocese of Westminster, which plays an active part in school life with termly masses at the school. Clergy maintain close links with the school throughout the year. The school community is further strengthened by the 'very strong' Parents' Association which 'works in close harmony with the governing body to promote the development of the school'. Pupils are encouraged to raise money for charity and are particularly proud of their 'strong tradition' of fundraising for a local Christian organisation that works to help the homeless in London. The school is recognised as an 'Investor in People'.
