Background:

Established in 1908 by Sisters of the Poor Child Jesus; set in attractive grounds in leafy North Finchley; number of modern buildings, including technology and ICT facilities; rebuilt mathematics and ICT suite opened in September 2004; committed to introduction of interactive technology for teaching and learning. All pupils in Years 7 to 11 are from practising Catholic homes, although some non-Catholics are accepted into sixth form. Strong tradition of music, drama, art and PE; Latin taught; extensive European work-experience programme with France, Belgium, Sweden, and Spain. Strong sixth form, with 30 different A-level courses. Specialist language college status. Before-school care, from 8am; after-school care, until 4.30pm. Over-subscribed, with more than three applications per place. DfES achievement award (2001, 2002).
