The school provides extra-curricular activities such as athletics, netball, choir and drama as well as the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The Investors in People Status was re-designated in 2003, when the school also achieved an award from the DfES for its high position in the value added key stage three and four league tables. It has consistently achieved the School Achievement Award. It has been a Technology College since September 1997 and in January 2006 become a Language Specialist College.
